Abstract

The detection of amoxicillin in aqueous matrices is frequent and adsorption stands out as an alternative for its removal using coffee grounds as adsorbent. Therefore, the coffee grounds were pretreated and the temperature effects were evaluated. For a period of 8 hours, agitation of 100 rpm and pH = 7, the results showed that equilibrium was reached at a temperature of 27 °C with fast adsorption. Thus, the proposed process showed potential to solve drug contamination of effluents.
